Sea Of Humanity
As the setting sun reflects upon the sea of humanity,
The billows roll and toss as mankind struggles to be free.
The restless waves are murmuring as they clutch the lowering sky,
And blaspheme the God of heaven who will judge them by and by.
We see ships upon these waters, bearing companies of men,
And their captains preach some gospel, pleasing words to pander them.
But the passengers are blinded, they see all through a rosy hue,
Were their minds not all so blinded, they would see it’s too good to be true!
Other ships we see have galleys, where the souls are chained to oars,
And they pull against the currents, and against the winds that roar.
Tossed about in tempests wildly, “Save our souls!” is the alarm!
As the captain shakes his fist at God to move His mighty arm.
There is a ship of promise, nearing harbor and the calm,
Which has met the mighty iceberg, and proceeded still unharmed,
And the Captain of this ship is He who hung upon the cross,
And His passengers have given Him their sins – He’s paid the cost!
His life shines like a lighthouse, steering souls upon the sea,
To “The One”, “The Rock Of Ages”, dwelling with humanity,
He will take them into harbor to avoid the winds of strife,
And He’ll walk with them on streets of gold, give them Eternal Life!
